Bottom Border is a great way to create headers in your analysis. Whether it's dates of a forecast or categories in a table, Bottom Border is a great shortcut to create sleek model outputs. In addition, it is more convenient than Top Border because if you add a row right below the header, the border will stay with the header versus moving downward with the row that's being moved down. In this way you limit the number of times you have to reformat your model with the Bottom Border shortcut. In this article, I will show you how to activate this feature in Google Sheets by shortcut, just like you would in Excel
The most common shortcut for Bottom Border in Excel is Alt + H + B + O. You can use this shortcut in Google Sheets by pressing & releasing Alt + H + B + O one after the other
Steps for Bottom Border:
Install the SheetWhiz Chrome Extension for free
Refresh a Google Sheet and login when prompted. The SheetWhiz logo will appear in the upper right hand corner of the screen
Select the area you'd like to apply a Bottom Border to and then hit Alt + H + B + O. Make sure you press and release each key before pressing the next key, just like you would in Excel
If you are on a Mac, use Option + H + B + O as there is no Alt key on the Mac keyboard
