Our Story
David and Peter founded SheetWhiz with the mission to make professionals who work in Google Sheets, productive. As a private equity investor who spent years working in Excel, David acutely felt the pain of using Google Sheets after he moved to a startup in 2021. Startups preferred Google Sheets since it made collaboration easier, but Sheets lacked the keyboard shortcuts and robust formula auditing tools ( trace dependents and precedents ) that made it easy to complete day to day tasks.

David's good friend Peter, a Meta software engineer, built the initial prototypes that showed that it could be possible to build a better set of tools for Sheets. To validate that this was a pain point for many, they interviewed a dozen other finance professionals and found they too were struggling with the Excel to Sheets transition. With their newfound conviction, the co-founders assembled a team to develop SheetWhiz, a tool designed to enable Excel-trained professionals to use Google Sheets easily.

Today, David uses SheetWhiz to be just as productive as he was if using Excel and him, Peter & the team hope SheetWhiz allows you to do the same!
